The Christian Is Called to a Higher Standard

Luke 6:27-36 is a passage that lists four things the Christian is called to do.

1. Love your enemies
2. Do good to those who hate you
3. Bless those who curse you
4. Pray for those who hurt you

As Jesus presents these challenges he says, "If you only love those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them!" (Luke 6:32).

But if you want to be like the Most High, you've got to LOVE YOUR ENEMIES because God is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.

Have mercy! That's a hard word, ain't it?! But it's the Word nonetheless. May God give us strength!
