Presidential Debate: Support Gay Marriage or Not?

Watching a rebroadcast of the Democratic Presidential Debate on CNN sponsored by YouTube and they just dealt with the question of whether or not the candidates would support gay marriage if they became President of the United States. It's interesting how much applause went to the candidate who was willing to support gay marriage.

But what I really admired was those who stood by their positions that they would not support it because they don't believe in it. Sounds homophobic, huh? Folk need courage to say what they believe and not cave under popular pressure. Marriage, not just in America and not just in Christianity, but since time in memorium is defined as being between a man and a woman. And I'm grateful that there are some folk running for President who aren't just trying to figure out which way the Democratic political winds are blowing.
